Farmers across New York have a greater certainty about their future today, thanks in large part to the efforts of Congressman Chris Collins on the Farm Bill that was recently signed into law. As a member of the House Agriculture Committee, Congressman Collins has worked hard in a bipartisan fashion on behalf of farmers in his district, and New York Farm Bureau would like to thank him for a job well done.
Congressman Collins’ support has improved the safety net meant to assist dairy farmers when an unstable market threatens their very existence. He also worked to increase specialty crop research funding, which finances important research at locations like Cornell University. The investment will provide farms in western New York with new opportunities to grow and diversify.
New York Farm Bureau works for every farmer in the state, and it is clear Congressman Collins does so as well.
