Congressman Chris Collins Dedicates Dansville Post Office In Honor of Staff Sergeant Alexandria Gleason-Morrow
Clarence, NY – Congressman Chris Collins (NY-27) today dedicated the U.S. Post Office in Dansville, New York in honor of Staff Sergeant Alexandria Gleason-Morrow, a Dansville native who was killed in the line of duty while courageously serving in Jordan in 2017.
“Staff Sergeant Gleason-Morrow was a brave soldier who represented the Dansville community, and the country with pride,” said Congressman Collins.“It is an honor to dedicate a post office in New York’s 27th Congressional District after a hometown hero. This post office will stand as a lasting tribute to her bravery, heroism, and sacrifice for our country.”
The United States Postal Service unveiled the dedication plaque for Staff Sergeant Gleason-Morrow this afternoon at the Dansville American Legion. The plaque will be installed permanently at the U.S. postal facility at 116 Main Street in Dansville, New York.
A graduate of Dansville High School, Staff Sergeant Gleason-Marrow enlisted into the United States Air Force and was assigned to the 366th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at the Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho. Staff Sergeant Gleason-Morrow was deployed to Jordan during Operation Inherent Resolve, and died from non-combat related injuries while performing maintenance duties on a fighter aircraft.
“The memory of Staff Sergeant Alexandria Gleason-Morrow’s will never fade and we will forever be proud of her commitment to duty,” added Congressman Collins.
Legislation dedicating the Dansville Post Office in honor of Staff Sergeant Gleason-Morrow was passed unanimously in the House and Senate. President Trump signed this legislation into law on December 21st, 2018.
