Congressman Chris Collins Recognized by U.S. Chamber of Commerce as “Business Builder and Job Creator”
In recognition of his support for pro-growth, pro-job policies in the second session of the 114th Congress, today the U.S. Chamber of Commerce awarded Congressman Chris Collins with the “Business Builder and Job Creator” hard hat. This award was presented as part of the Chamber’s annual Spirit of Enterprise award program.
“I went to Washington to fight for common sense, pro-job policies to help revitalize local economies here in Western New York and improve the quality of life for all NY27 residents,” said Congressman Collins. “Over 3 million businesses rely on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s continued advocacy, so it is an honor to receive this recognition on their behalf. I will continue supporting the Chamber’s mission and pro-job policies for as long as I have the privilege of serving in Congress.”
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Spirit of Enterprise Award is given annually to members of Congress based on their votes on critical business and job legislation, as outlined in the Chamber’s annual scorecard. Members of Congress were scored on votes related to access to capital for small businesses, ensuring our workforce has the skills necessary for the jobs of tomorrow, and helping American manufacturers compete in a global economy. The Chamber presented Congressman Collins with the Spirit of Enterprise Award in April.
“Businesses of all shapes and sizes need sound, commonsense policy in place in order to get off the ground, grow, and succeed,” said Nick Vaugh, Eastern Region Manager for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “The Spirit of Enterprise Award and ‘Business Builder and Job Creator' hard hat recognizes those members of Congress who have done what’s right for our friends, family, and neighbors running businesses in Western New York and across America. We applaud Congressman Chris Collins for his 100% commitment to free enterprise and economic growth.”
