Statement from Congressman Chris Collins on the Passage of the Keep Your Health Plan Act
Today, the House voted to attempt to help the millions of Americans who were misled by President Obama when he promised them they could keep their health insurance. In Western New York alone, 137,000 people were betrayed by President Obama when their policies were cancelled.
Unfortunately, given how the insurance marketplace is governed from state-to-state, many Americans will find that despite today’s action in the House, their insurance will remain cancelled and they will be forced to buy more expensive plans including coverage they do not need or want because President Obama says so. That is why I continue to call for the full repeal of ObamaCare and the passage of commonsense healthcare reforms.
